Important notes for this license
- 3 semester hours of eligible coursework or WVLearns courses required per 1-year renewal cycle
- Provisional certificate may be renewed no more than twice for a total of 3 years of validity
- Minimum 3.0 GPA required for all semester hour coursework
- Official transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to WVDE
- Educators must transition to a Professional Teaching Certificate after exhausting provisional renewals
- Renewal submitted online through the WV certification portal at wveis.k12.wv.us/certportal
- Renewal fee is $35
