Special Rules & Notes
Important notes for this license
- 6 semester hours of eligible coursework or WVLearns courses required per 5-year renewal cycle
- Minimum 3.0 GPA required for all semester hour coursework submitted for renewal
- Official transcripts must be sent directly from the college/university to [email protected] — applicants may not submit their own transcripts
- Educators with Master's +30 advanced salary classification are exempt from the coursework requirement
- Educators age 60 or older are exempt from the coursework requirement
- Renewal applications may be submitted after January 1 of the expiration year
- If employed by WV public schools, superintendent recommendation (Form 4T) is required
- Renewal submitted online through the WV certification portal at wveis.k12.wv.us/certportal
- Renewal fee is $35
