Accepted PD Activity Types

  • College or university credits (1 semester credit = 15 clock hours; 1 quarter credit = 10 clock hours)
  • Professional Growth Plans (1 PGP = 25 clock hours, up to 1 PGP per year)
  • Equity-based school practices clock hours aligned with CCDEI standards

Important notes for this license

  • 100 clock hours (or equivalent) required per 5-year renewal cycle
  • As of July 1, 2023, 15 clock hours in equity-based school practices are required
  • Residency Certificate is for educators completing initial years of practice; must eventually advance to Continuing Certificate by completing a state-approved Professional Certification program
  • On-time application deadline is January 1 of the expiration year
  • Renewal fee is $81
