- College coursework is never required; points may be earned through any approved combination of activities
- All educators must complete CPR/first aid certification training
- Child abuse and neglect recognition and intervention training required
- Dyslexia awareness training required
- Teachers must complete training on instruction of students with disabilities and differentiating instruction
- Virginia Superintendent requires completion of Virginia history and government training module
- School counselors must complete mental health disorder recognition training
- Renewal submitted through VALO (Virginia Licensure Online) portal at VDOE
