Accepted PD Activity Types
- Professional learning and growth sessions (1 hour = 1 PDP)
- Accredited college/university coursework (1 semester credit = 10 PDPs)
- National Board Certification (earning NBC = 30 PDPs)
- Clinical mentorship for educator preparation program candidates (20 PDPs)
- TDOE-approved micro-credentials (6 PDPs each)
- Two years of qualifying educator experience (in lieu of PDPs)

Important notes for this license
- 60 PDPs required per 6-year renewal cycle
- Educators may substitute 2 years of qualifying experience for the PDP requirement
- All educators must meet TN Literacy Success Act requirements via approved training or qualifying assessment
- License must be renewed by expiration date; reactivation window extends to October 1 of expiration year
