Important notes for this license
- 6 education-related credits required per 5-year cycle, all of which may be transcripted credits or CECH
- All educators must complete a minimum of 1 clock hour of approved suicide awareness and prevention training
- Requires a master's degree for initial issuance
- Certificate expires July 1 of the expiration year; invalid if not renewed by October 1
- Renewal submitted through the South Dakota Educator Certification Portal
