  • Pre-approval from employing Pennsylvania public school district is strongly recommended before beginning coursework
  • Hours tracked through PERMS (Professional Educator Record Management System) at perms.pa.gov
  • PDE notifies educators 12 months before expiration of unfulfilled requirements
  • Certificates placed on voluntary inactive status require a $75 fee to suspend continuing education requirements
