Special Rules & Notes
Important notes for this license
- 75 professional development points (PDPs) required over the 5-year renewal period (1 clock hour = 1 PDP)
- Points must be earned in each calendar year of the renewal period — not all 75 at once
- Proof of employment in an Oklahoma school for at least 3 of the 5 years may be required
- PD activities should receive advance approval from a supervisor when possible
- Background check required before renewal for educators without a check on file with OSDE (per HB 3398)
- Renewal submitted through the OSDE online certification portal
- 1 semester hour of college credit = 15 PD points toward the 75-point requirement
