Important notes for this license
- The Standard Certificate itself is permanent and does not expire
- However, educators must complete 20 hours of professional development annually (N.J.A.C. 6A:9C-3.4)
- PD hours are prorated for part-time employment (e.g., 50% position = 10 hours required)
- PD must align with the educator's personalized Professional Development Plan (PDP)
- PDP is based on annual performance evaluations and school improvement goals
- No renewal fee for the Standard Certificate itself
- PD hours tracked and documented through the district or school's system
