Important notes for this license

  • 90 clock hours of continuing education required per 5-year renewal cycle
  • Alternatively: 6 semester credits, or a combination of clock hours and semester credits
  • Educators must upload proof of professional development to their OPAL account
  • All renewals handled electronically through Nevada's OPAL (Online Portal for Administrator Licensing) system
  • Paper applications are no longer accepted
  • National Board Certification satisfies the professional development requirement for renewal
  • Retirees or those with 15+ combined years in NV public/private/charter schools may be exempt from PD requirement
