  • University or college semester credit hours (1 credit = 25 SCECHs)
  • Planned course of study from an accredited institution

Special Rules & Notes

Important notes for this license

  • 150 SCECHs or equivalent required per 5-year renewal cycle
  • Alternatively, 6 semester credit hours from a regionally accredited institution satisfy the requirement
  • District-provided PD must be entered by approved sponsors as SCECHs via MOECS
  • Renewal can be submitted beginning January 1 of the expiration year
  • Certificate expires June 30 of the renewal year
  • Managed through Michigan Online Educator Certification System (MOECS) at mdoe.state.mi.us
