- 150 SCECHs or equivalent required per 5-year renewal cycle
- Alternatively, 6 semester credit hours from a regionally accredited institution satisfy the requirement
- Unlimited renewals — each renewal adds 5 years of validity
- Renewal can be requested any time after January 1 of the expiration year
- Certificate expires June 30 of the renewal year
- Managed through MOECS at mdoe.state.mi.us
