Important notes for this license
- 150 CLUs (clock hours) required per 5-year renewal cycle
- CLUs must be verified by the employing school district through the Certification Update Packet
- Renewal is processed through the employing school system — the district submits on behalf of the teacher via the Louisiana Educator Certification (LEC) portal
- Renewal application available through louisianabelieves.com
- As of January 2025, the $25 criminal background check fee has been eliminated for renewals
- Certificate expires June 30 of the renewal year
