Accepted PD Activity Types
- Semester credits from a regionally accredited college or university (graduate or undergraduate)
- District/charter school/private school in-service hours (15 contact hours = 1 semester credit, up to 3 credits)
- Individualized Professional Learning Plan (IPLP) activities approved by employer

Important notes for this license
- 6 semester credits required per 5-year renewal cycle (90 contact hours if using in-service)
- Credits must be educationally related to the IPLP or the educator's professional practice
- District in-service hours may count for up to 3 of the required 6 credits
- Certificate expires August 31; renewal window opens January 1 of the expiration year
- No extensions granted — lapsed certificates require reinstatement
- Renewal submitted online through the Idaho State Department of Education portal
- Renewal fee: $75 plus $3.25 online convenience fee
