Important notes for this license
- Initial Certificates are valid for ten years and no renewal is needed within that period
- Educators must advance to a Professional Certificate before the Initial Certificate expires
- Effective July 1, 2025: Provisional Certificates can no longer be issued or renewed; educators not meeting Professional Certificate requirements are eligible for the Initial Certificate instead
- Certificate managed through the Connecticut Educator Certification System (CECS)
