Accepted PD Activity Types

Special Rules & Notes
Important notes for this license
- 90 contact hours of professional learning (or 6 semester hours of coursework) required per 7-year renewal cycle
- Effective Sept. 1, 2025: 45 contact hours of ELL professional learning required for educators renewing with elementary, English, math, science, social studies, or middle-level endorsements
- Minimum 10 contact hours of training in special education and behavioral health required for licenses expiring on or after June 30, 2025
- K-3 classroom teachers must show competency in science-based reading or complete 45 hours of PD under the READ Act
- Professional learning must align to endorsement areas, Colorado academic standards, or educator quality standards
- Non-refundable renewal application fee is $90
- Renewal submitted through the CDE Educator Licensing system at ed.cde.state.co.us
